The desire is to hold an open and broadly attended workshop, but there are space and financial constraints. The workshop organizers will make the final decision on all applicants taking into consideration the range of expertise among participants as well as space and resources availability.
Travel funding is limited, but available and post docs and graduate students are encouraged to apply. Please request travel funds on the registration form if applicable. Final decisions on travel will be made by April 15.
Both Boston and Providence (TF Green) airports are about 1.5 hours from Woods Hole. Boston Logan airport has public transportation options available, whereas getting to Woods Hole from the Providence airport requires a car. If your travel is to be covered by the workshop grant, please make your reservations as soon as possible. You can make reservations directly or contact our travel agent. (You will be given that contact information in an e-mail by April 23.)
Plenary speakers and all others who will have travel costs covered must travel on U.S. Carriers, as per the Fly America Act.
Funding for this workshop comes from the OCB office, which is funded by NSF, NASA and NOAA which require US carriers to be used when possible. For questions or special circumstances, please contact Trish White (firstname.lastname@example.org
) before flights are booked.
From Logan Airport
Peter Pan Bus lines picks up at Logan and has a stop one block away from the hotel. Please note that the last bus from Logan to Falmouth departs at 7:30pm. Another option either from Logan or Providence airports is to rent a car. Please let us know if you would like to rent a car and would be willing to drive workshop participants to and from the workshop and hotel.
